4 ways to make your job easier

Too busy at work? Here are some Monday morning tips to make your job easier.

1. Automate as much as possible

From simple to complex, everyone has tasks they do over and over again. While some tasks just beg to be automated, there are plenty more you wouldn’t think of. If you define a task by saying, “If this happens, then this should happen next,” you can probably automate it. Goodbye sorting stacks of paper!

2. Collaborative work environments

Everyone always says two brains are better than one. Seems like simple math. We’re not just talking about brainstorming. Whether it is automatically dividing up a workload, sharing files or keeping track of a project, collaboration gets you to success faster. Since your entire team can’t sit around the boardroom table all day, every day, use tools (like WizeHive) to make intra-office and international collaboration as easy as pie.

3. Track, Measure & Iterate

Everyone is unique, just like snowflakes. That’s why it is important to track & measure your data, especially when you change things up. Pick a simple benchmark to measure success over time, then build out crazy cool reports to keep track of where things are at in comparison to that benchmark.

 4. Wear Headphones!

While half kidding, interrupted work from co-worker conversations is a huge productivity drain – check out Jason Fried’s Ted Talk about this here, albeit a bit radical. Tune out interruptions from co-workers by listening to music (or pretending) so you can effectively focus on the task at hand. note: by using collaborative tools, you and your team won’t need to be interrupted so much. Everyone will know what’s going on with a few clicks.
